Mapogo Records – a new Artist Management Agency in Johannesburg.

Mapogo records is a 360 degree Artist management and development agency. We are a small team representing a group of handpicked artists from across Africa. With our own production studio, musicians, offices and production crew, we pride ourselves as perfectionists on releasing only the highest quality of meaningful music for our artists.

As our family of artists is growing, we are now looking to take on a few new team members in our Johannesburg offices. In particular, we are looking for both full-time employees and interns in areas of Digital Marketing and Artist Management. Candidates for full-time roles should have some prior experience in these areas, while we are willing to accept interns with a keen interest in the areas and a desire to learn.

Marketing Manager

For this full-time role, we are looking for someone to manage all of our company’s marketing and social media needs, especially those of the artists that we manage. An ideal candidate would be someone with a background in social media management and growth and someone who has either grown a social media page from the ground and/or managed a social media page with a large reach. They would have a few years of experience particularly in music marketing, data analytics and social media management as part of a company or agency. They will be extremely proficient with the use of paid social media promotion, liaising with brands and will work well as part of a team.

Digital Media Intern

For this full-time 3-month internship, we are looking for someone with a keen interest in marketing and PR. Ideally, the candidate will already have lots of experience with social media management and growth and perhaps even have experience as a social media influencer themselves. They will have an interest and some knowledge of the entertainment industry, particularly the music industry. An ability to work with digital content, including photos and videos is vital. The role will be an amazing opportunity to learn about the music industry as part of a newly established production and artist agency. While working as part of our small team, you will be mentored by and work under our marketing manager, with the incentive to eventually step into a similar role yourself.

Talent Manager

We are looking for someone to manage some of our music artists full-time. We are a new team working with a small group of hand-picked music artists, looking to grow their reach and exposure, while nurturing their talent. An ideal candidate will have prior experience managing music artists and a proven track record of having grown their reach during that time. They will have a local or global network of music artists in the industries of South Africa’s most popular music genres and a good knowledge of these genres. In general, they will be well connected with a variety of musicians, producers and creatives relevant to the music industry.

Content Creation Intern

For this full-time role, we are looking for someone with a keen interest in marketing and PR. The candidate will have extensive experience in written content including articles, marketing copy and research reports. They will have an interest and some knowledge of the entertainment industry. An ability to work with digital content, including photos and videos is preferable. The role will be an amazing opportunity to learn about the marketing and entertainment industry. While working as part of our small team, you will have the opportunity to gain additional experience in photography and filmmaking should you wish to, as well as to work closely with our network of industry leaders.
